Land Speed Racing
When I get the opportunity, I do standing mile land speed racing on my 2006 Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa.
Making about 280 HP, I've been able to trim her down to 475 lbs curb weight. Current modifications:
Gen 2 forged crank
The Gen 2 crank increases the displacement of the motor from 1299 cc's to 1349 cc's.
Wossner forged pistons and rods
The forged Wossner pistons and rods strengthens the rotating assembly, holding the increased combustion chamber pressures.
RCC Stage 1 Turbo Kit
The RCC turbo kit pushes the built motor past the 200 hp range while keeping the bike predictable.
DynoJet Power Commander suit
Using the DynoJet Power Commander V, DynoJet AutoTune and associated POD-300 combined with the ECU Editor direct ECU tune keeps an eye on the performance of the engine. I plan on changing this to a MAXX ECU in the near future for more sensors and better tuning control.
Carbon Fiber Fairings
Carbon Fiber Fairings from MotoComposites keeps the rigid aerodynamic package while lightening the entire bike.
Gearing and Final Drive
From the stock 17/40 gearing to top speed or 18/38 with a 530 DragMax chain, the theoretical top speed at the increased rev limit of 11,500 RPM's is 238.2 MPH. This top speed would require significantly more horsepower and torque than the bike currently makes.
